Today is the day we celebrate the 240th anniversary of the founding of our nation! If you're worried about the state of society, the elections, etc.; certainly pray for a change in minds and hearts, but also remember there has been much contention in the country at times, but we are still the United States of America.

Making Sense of the 4th of July was especially helpful...John Adams thought we should celebrate on July 2nd, the day on which the Second Continental Congress dissolved all allegiance to the British Crown. Government being what it is, it took two days to finish up the paperwork and the Declaration of Independence was signed on the day we now celebrate our freedom. The 2nd or the 4th, it is important to recall and remember what it took to become a free nation and give thanks to all the brave men and women who fought to make it so.
