Great Lakes Tour, Day 5

Our car mishap (blessing) put us a bit behind so we had to move along...we crossed the border back into the US and headed west across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was about a 2-hour drive to our next destination and there was nothing much around...except beautiful forests and an occasional small town (very clear at this point of God's Providence since a flat here would have meant days behind...no cell service, waiting for a kind passer-by, etc.).
The Hiawatha National Forest...and not much else.
We didn't have enough time to make it the whole way to our planned destination but the point was to check off Great Lake #3. We happened to be on a road with bunches of little beaches so we picked one and marveled at yet another of God's amazing creations...this one Superior ;0)

Another 3+ hours and we landed in our hotel, again blessed because it was relatively empty which enabled me to purchase the adjoining room to use as a "schoolhouse" for the two to watch the recordings of their missed classes and catch up on their written work.
I felt less guilty about the extra room since we made out so well with dinner. We get random gift cards throughout the year for one thing or another so I had collected them all and taken them with us on our journey. There just happened to be a DQ right next to the hotel (ahem) so we ended up having dinner for $0.47. Go Green Bay!
Also, being not-Pennsylvania, I was able to pick up some mommy sleep aid while I was filling up my gas tank. My brother said it probably tasted like cheese. Lol.
It actually tasted remarkably like Iron City.

Well-fed and ready to start our night, my boys took advantage of one of their favorite pastimes this trip...the whirlpool bath.
Tomorrow was a "local" day but jam packed with all the wonders of Green Bay...Catholicism, cheese and giant trophies. Stay tuned.

We are blessed.
